Thank you for buying a Rock Seven product.
We specialise in tracking and communications using Iridium satellite - getting data to and from devices in very remote locations, where no other communications are possible.
We make our own hardware products, write the software, and manage all Rock Seven services. That means you'll find real people at the other side of the line - no call centres, just knowledgeable staff.
The RockSTAR, RockAIR and RockFLEET share a single architecture, giving users a similar set of features and options to work with. Though varying slightly across the range, these common features and options are outlined in the following subchapters and are valuable to helping you understand how these products work.
Rock Seven has developed a back-office, single-point of control called the Core to help you manage, configure and communicate with all your devices. The Core is web-based, and can be accessed from any mobile/desktop device with a browser and an internet connection.
The RockAIR, RockFLEET, and RockSTAR integrate with the Core and communicate with each other using the RockCONNECT app which offers:
- Seamless communication between devices, the Core and HQ
- Group messaging
- Manual position reports
- Mailbox checks
- Transmission of alerts
- Device reconfiguration
- Device firmware updates
Other providers may have their own bespoke apps which work with our devices. Please check with your provider if you are unsure which app you should be using, and to get a manual for the app.
As with all satellite devices, our products need a clear view of the sky to work properly. The better view of the sky they have, the quicker they will be able to transmit and receive messages, and the better your experience will be. Our products' internal batteries will also last the longest this way.
Sometimes devices will work with partial views of the sky, such as on windowsills - however, this is not guaranteed, and every situation is different.
